The Needle Points North: Great Exhibition of the North

an image is not available
For generations the exquisite art of embroidery has decorated our lives. This exhibition of 14 imposing embroidered panels depicts our region as seen through the stone framed windows of our heritage buildings. Created by 14 branches of the Embroiderer’s Guild, the panels demonstrate the diversity, liveliness and creativity of the Northern region from Cumbria to Hartlepool. The panels, usually housed at Beamish Museum, will be on display at St Mary’s for the duration of the GEoN. During the exhibition Guild members will be on hand on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 1pm to demonstrate their skills and guide visitors to have a go and learn more about this wonderful art. FREE entry. Viewing available 10am – 4pm Tuesday to Friday and 10am – 1pm Saturday During the exhibition a selection of tea and coffee from local supplier Pumphrey's will be served café style.
