Digital Makings: Fore-edge Book Workshop

an image is not available
Join artist Christopher Folwell in this workshop to create a hidden fore-edge book illustration on a book of your own. This technique was devised in the 10th century and was used extensively in some of the most prized books of the time. Christopher is one of the artists who has designed a book for our ‘Undercover Fore-edge Book Trail’ currently showing at Gateshead Central Library. The workshop is suitable for beginners and focusses on a modern collage approach to this medieval technique. Bring along your own book to customise or we’ll have a selection available for you to choose from.
