Digital Makings: Undercover Fore-edge Book Trail

an image is not available
Artists have painted a secretly hidden image, onto the edge of books hidden in the library, using gilt edging creating a book trail for you to discover but only by fanning the pages is the image revealed. The book trail moves from historical 10th century techniques to present day technology with augmented reality books to view through a digital device revealing hidden animations. Fore-edge artists include Josie Brookes, Katie Chapell, Michael Davies, Hollie Lisle, Christopher Folwell, Emma Ingles, Mandeep Chohan with fore-edge expertise provided by Christopher Folwell and Tim Gradon from The Lit & Phil and augmented reality animations by Vector 76.
