Gateshead Central Library has a wealth of archive material including photographs documenting Gateshead’s history and the changes to the built environment and to peoples lives. Some of the images are available on line at isee.gateshead.gov.uk Snapshot is a carefully selected portfolio of pictures that characterises the streets around Gateshead in the 1960’s. If you are over 50 years of age this might jog a few memories and for younger audiences it might help to understand some of the changes to Gateshead in living history.
