Bulky Household Waste Collections Online

We will remove household waste that is too bulky to fit into your wheeled bin at a charge of £5 per eight household items (or part thereof).

We will collect household items:

  • Cookers
  • Freezers
  • Fridge's
  • Furniture
  • Garden rubbish (tied and bagged)*
  • Household items (A 3-piece suite is classed as 3 items)
  • Mattresses
  • Washing machines
  There is a standard charge of £30 for removing items irrespective of quantity :

  • Bath
  • Shower Unit
  • Sink
  • Toilet
  • Bathroom Suite
  • Central Heating Boilers
  • Fireplace
  • Garage Doors
  • Radiators
  • Internal/External Doors
  • Kitchen Units
  • Windows
  • Skirting Boards
  • Guttering
We will also charge for removing the items below but an Inspector will need to visit to assess the cost first:
  • boards
  • Coal Bunker - Concrete only
  • Dismantled Sheds
  • Fencing
  • Large amounts of loose wood/timber
  • Loose Garden Rubbish*
  • Paving Stones
  • Rubble/Soil
  • Water Tank

  1. We will contact you shortly to discuss the details and arrange payment. (Payment will be required at least 2 working days prior to your allocated collection date).
  2. When you request the collection service we will tell you your collection date. Each area/street has a specified collection day.
  3. To help us provide the service quickly and efficiently, on collection day you should place your items for collection:
    • Inside the edge of your property and must be accessible for our vehicles or at ground level for flats
    • Leave out ready for collection by 7.30am
    • All items must be liftable.

  4. We will only collect the items that you have listed.
  5. If you require assistance, ie elderly, frail, disabled and there is no one who can put the items out for you, please ring 0191 433 7000
  6. If you live in a multi-storey flat, items can only be collected from the ground floor, please make arrangements for the goods to be brought down to the ground floor by 7.30am on the day of collection. If you are already included on the councils Assisted Collection List or are unable to move the items to the ground floor due to a disability, are elderly or infirm please ring 0191 433 7000 and we will tell you what arrangements can be made.
  7. * If you have a 'Green-It' bin your garden rubbish should be placed in this and collected by the 'Green-It' service.
