This portfolio covers:

- Driving forward Vision 2030 across the borough

- Working with partners to engage local people, improve local communities and oversee the Community Development Strategy

- Ensuring that neighbourhood and area priorities are identified and that services are tailored accordingly

This is one of five areas within the Borough and covers the following wards:

- Dunston and Teams

- Dunston Hill and Whickham East

- Whickham North

- Whickham South and Sunniside

An area conference is held every six months which brings together representatives of the council and its partners including the health service, the police, the Gateshead Housing Company, the voluntary sector, schools and other local organisations to coordinate, improve and monitor local services, solve local problems and help local people to influence the things that happen in their neighbourhood.
