I was born in Gateshead and I have lived in Wardley for 28 years. During my working life , I have been a clerical worker, a mother, and a childminder.
I was first elected as a Councillor in 1991, in what was then the Wrekendyke ward and is now known as the Wardley and Leam Lane ward.
I have served on the Cabinet since 2001. During that time I have held the portfolio for Children and Young People, the portfolio for Community Safety and I currently hold the portfolios for Sustainable Communities - Central and Culture, as well as supporting Cabinet members on Quality, Community Safety and Environment. I am a Governor of two local community primary schools - Whitemere and Roman Road. I also serve on other organisations including the Gateshead Culture Partnership, the Central Area Forum, the Leam Lane Children's Centre, East Gateshead Quality Bus Partnership, Tyne and Wear Museums Joint Committee, Gateshead Women's Refuge Steering Group and Leam Lane Community Association.
As one of your three representatives for the Wardley and Leam Lane Ward I am always available to listen to any issue you believe I could assist you with, either within the Ward or within the Borough. If you have a problem or a query please contact me at any time.
